Frequently asked questions

1. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Talk therapy can be helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed, experiencing emotional distress, or facing challenges in your life. It can help with a wide range of issues, including mental health conditions like depression and anxiety, life transitions, relationship problems, and personal growth. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to me and we can determine if it's a good fit.

5. What should I expect during my first session?

In your first session, I will ask questions to understand your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. You’ll have an opportunity to share what's on your mind, and I'll help guide the conversation. Your session is a safe, non-judgmental space, and you’re free to go at your own pace.

2. How much does it cost?

My fee is $150 for a 50 minute session. I will consider a reduction in fees in some cases. I accept payments via venmo or zelle.

6. How long does therapy take?

The length of therapy varies depending on your needs and goals. Some people find relief after a few sessions, while others may engage in therapy for several months or longer. I will work with you to develop a plan that fits your specific needs.

3. Do you accept insurance?

I currently do not contract with any insurance providers, but can operate as an out of network provider. If you have PPO insurance, I can give you a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

7. Is therapy confidential?

Yes, your privacy is very important. All therapy sessions are confidential, meaning I cannot share what you discuss with anyone else without your consent, except in certain situations, such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. You will hear more about limits to confidentiality during your first session, and any of your questions about privacy, are welcome.

4. Do you do online and in person sessions?

I am currently offering sessions online only. I have found online therapy to to be equally effective and far more accessible for my clients. All sessions are conducted on a remote therapy platform using HIPPAA-compliant technology to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
